Hi! I’m Cecilia, the founder of Taste ‘n’ Create
I’m not a chef. I’m more of a techy person, but I’ve also always enjoyed cooking. I like to read recipes to find inspiration and to learn. And I can never have too many cookbooks. When I want to relax after a hard day’s work (or any day, to be honest), I typically spend a few hours in the kitchen—chopping, cooking, frying, and eventually eating.
I like to figure out how things work, whether it’s a newly installed WordPress theme or whether cutting out the innermost part of a garlic clove really affects its taste.
I started this site to inspire you to taste (perhaps new) recipes and create your own! Since you have made it this far, I assume you are interested in plant-based food and perhaps cooking. I’m happy you’re here! What’s your favourite food?

The background story
A few years back, I saw a documentary about athletes eating nothing but plants to improve their performance. I was sceptical but intrigued. How on earth could that work?!
I honestly thought they were lying to me. Well, there is one thing I can do to prove them wrong (yes, that was my approach to this)—I can try it out and use myself as a guinea pig. I gave it a month.
So I switched diet overnight, and all of a sudden, I had no idea how to cook food. I mean, come on, how can you produce anything tasty without butter, cream, or cheese?
Since I no longer knew how to cook, I began a big hunt for recipes and tips from people who were into this kind of eating. I managed not to starve, and it wasn’t tasting too bad either. Who would have thought?
After eating plants only for three weeks, I had gained so many health benefits that I couldn’t return to my old way of eating. I honestly didn’t want to either.
Conclusion: They were right, and I was wrong. And I’m glad it wasn’t the other way around.
Somewhere along the line, I got the idea to build my own website about plant-based eating to inspire and help others who want to incorporate more plants into their diet or switch completely. And here we are!
